British Eritrean condemnation of TPLF massacre of Eritreans in Tigray: rally @Wellington Arch on 18 July 2021

British Eritrean communities are dismayed by deafening silence of UN agencies, EU, USA, media and all organisations that are operating in Tigray and their failure to condemn TPLF leadership for precipitating and exasperating humanitarian crisis in Tigray, and for their illicit wanton massacre of civilian. We urge UNHCR, other UN agencies and British government to protect Eritrean civilians who live in the Tigray in general and UNHCR run camps in particular and ensure their humanity is respected. We also urge COVID vaccinations to be rolled out in those UNHCR run refugee camps.

British Eritrean communities are extremely appalled by the trickled but credible reports of gruesome and mass killing, abduction and rape of Eritrean in cities, towns and UNHCR run refugee camps in Tigray region of Ethiopia by the infamous terrorist TPLF group. We are also shocked by the deafening silence of UN agencies, EU, USA and international media outlets to these illicit massacres, assassinations and crime against humanity committed by the TPLF that is happening in front of their own eyes.

After the Ethiopian Federal army halted its law informant operation by declaring a unilateral ceasefire in order to allow farmers utilise the rainy season, to facilitate better delivery of humanitarian aid to those in need, and to create conducive environment for Tigray people to find a political solution for their predicament, the infamous TPLF went into rampage of revenge killings of innocent civilians, looting properties and continue committing crime against humanity. We are hearing horrifying reports of assassinations, forced disappearances and abduction, mass massacres and displacement of Tigray people, other Ethiopians and innocent Eritrean in Tigray region of Ethiopia.

On the 7th of July 2021 the Interim Administration of Tigray Region called on the United Nations, other aid Agencies and the international community to speak loud and condemn the evil and inhuman horror acts being conducted by TPLF in Tigray after the withdrawal of the Federal Security Forces. The interim administration further declared that hundreds of civilian have been assassinated and massacred, and the whereabouts of hundreds of Tigrayans experts and their families, Eritrean refugees and supporters of other political groups is still unknown.

According to Dr Abraham Interim Administrator of Tigray region, thousands victims of Tigray people are fleeing the brutal TPLF and are taken refuge into neighbouring Ethiopian regions and Eritrea. The TPLF terrorist group are making the humanitarian crisis that they created even worse in the area of Tigray region of Ethiopia and yet the EU, USA and media outlet they control have chosen to ignore these crime and are still fermenting ethnic conflicts and violence in Ethiopia

It is a common knowledge that the UNHCR run refugee camps in Tigray region were used by TPLF operands as hot spot of human trafficking, money laundering, military training for armed insurgency in Eritrea, and immigration centres for Tigray youth to migrate to Europe posing as Eritreans. Since the recent conflict in Tigray we have been receiving disturbing reports of Eritreans being caught in the conflict of Tigray and being killed and abducted by local TPLF militias. While in last two weeks we have received horrifying reports of mass massacre and mutilation of Eritreans in Tigray in cities and towns in general and in the UNHCR run refugee camps in particular Eritrean civilians who fled the TPLF atrocities are reporting that hundreds of Eritreans in UNHCR run refugee camps were massacred and raped by the TPLF terrorist group and hundreds were also abducted and their whereabouts is still unknown.

We strongly condemn the frenzy activities by EU and USA to absolve TPLF crime against humanity and the cover up of these assassination, wanton massacre of civilians, abductions and rapes committed by TPLF terrorist group and their local militias.

Peace and stability can only be achieved by respecting sovereignty, and territorial integrity of both Ethiopia and Eritrea. The Ethio-Eritrea Peace alliance and law enforcement operation of the Ethiopian Government in Tigray region has averted a massive humanitarian and security crisis which could have engulfed the whole of the Horn of Africa and likely spilled over to the shores of Europe. We therefore urge British government to support the peace endeavour, regional stability and economic cooperation that is led by Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize winner and Eritrean President Issais Afwerk.
